Mr Christopher Maikalangu, Chairman, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) has commiserated with the management of DAAR Communications, owners of African Independent Television (AIT) and Raypower, over the death of its founder, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Dokpesi died on Monday at an Abuja hospital at the age of 71.
Maikalangu, who led a team of council officials on a condolence visit to the headquarters of the organisation on Wednesday in Abuja, described his death as “shocking and a great loss”.
“He is a father figure to me, during my election campaign days, he gave me 100 per cent support and I am going to miss him.
“He has been a pillar to me and I will remember him for his kindness,” he said.
Earlier, Mr Tony Akiotu, Group Managing Director, DAAR Communications, who welcomed the team, described the late media entrepreneur as a “father to all”.
“He was a man with a good heart, once he speaks his mind, he moves on, we shall miss him but I am happy that he left us with good memories,” he said.
