His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco and Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, has directed immediate dispatch of additional humanitarian aid to ease the pain of the inhabitants of the war-torn Gaza Strip.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates disclosed this in a statement on Monday, stressing that “His Majesty insisted that this humanitarian aid, like the previous ones, be transported by air and delivered urgently and directly to beneficiaries among the Palestinian brothers.”

According to the statement, “in display of the constant support and tangible solidarity of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, towards the brotherly Palestinian people, the Sovereign issued His Very High Instructions to dispatch additional humanitarian aid in favour of the inhabitants of Gaza.

“This aid contains around 100 tons of foodstuffs and medicines, specifically intended for vulnerable categories, particularly children and infants.

“This generous Royal initiative reflects His Majesty the King’s constant concern regarding the critical humanitarian situation experienced by Gaza’s population, as well as the steadfast commitment of the Sovereign in favor of alleviating their suffering,” the statement concludes.

It should be noted that the Al-Quds Committee chairman had earlier in July issued high instructions to dispatch emergency humanitarian and medical aid to the Palestinian people totaling nearly 180 tons.

The Al-Quds Committee is a standing committee of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation(OIC) established in 1975. It focuses on protecting Jerusalem (Al-Quds) and preserving its religious and cultural heritage, particularly in the context of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
