The Oriye Rindre, Justice Lawan Musa Nagogo (Rtd), has urged politicians to desist from acts of violence and religious favoritism to woo votes, noting that fairness should prevail over all interests.

The first class traditional ruler stated this when he received the Nasarawa North Senatorial Bye-Election Team of the All Progressives Congress led by its Chairman, Campaign Council, Sen. Philip Gyunka on Friday.

The paramount ruler of Wamba said politics must eschew parochial differences, recalling how he was smeared as being “christian-loving monarch” against Muslims of the zone because he stood for what was right to support the late, Sen. Godiya Akwashiki.

Nagogo said God decided who to lead at His own appointed time and called on politicians to be strictly guided by logical reasoning and justice regardless of social intimidations.

According to the monarch,who is an ex-Grand Khadi, he would continue to show fairness and integrity in his decisions, charging Envulunza to represent his people well, if he elected.

He commended the APC candidate for being determined in his cause to represent the zone, acknowledging the developmental strides of the late senator, Godiya Akwashiki, who passed on last year after a prolonged medical complication.

In his speech, the APC senatorial bye-election candidate, Barr. Danladi Envuluanza pledged his commitment to serving the people positively.

Chairman of the Campaign Council, Philip Gyunka, while presenting the candidate for the monarch’s royal blessing, appealed for total support to emerge victorious.

The team was also at the palace of the Gom Mama, Farin Ruwa Administrative Council Area, HRH, Alhaji Mustapha Bala Zubairu to receive the royal blessings of the traditional ruler

Meanwhile, the campaign team held stakeholders’ meeting with elders, youths and women of various electoral wards in the area.
