The Deputy Chief Whip of Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Mohammed Alkali, has distributed 2,000 bags of 50kg rice and an undisclosed amount of money to his constituents to celebrate Christmas.
This, he said, was to ease their economic pangs during and after the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
Alkali (APC-Lafia North), the Chairman, House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, distributed the items in Lafia on Friday.
He urged the beneficiaries to use the item for the purpose they are meant for.
Represented by Mr Salisu Mohammed, former chairman of Lafia North Development Area, he called on Christians and other Nigerians to use the period of Christmas to pray for the nation’s unity, peace, progress and development.
“Hon. Alkali has done so much and still doing in order to impact on your lives positively.
“He have the interest of the masses at heart and he will continue to provide the much needed dividends of democracy to you and others,” he said.
He assured his constituents of good representation at the state legislature in order to improve on their standard of living.
The lawmaker also called on them and other people of the state to support Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s adminsitration to succeed beyond 2023.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr Peter Igbacher and Mrs Felicia Ayele, appreciated Akali for the gesture and called for its sustenance.
