Marcelle Ruth Cancer Centre and Specialist Hospital, Lagos, has said that the inauguration of Women in Healthcare Network (WIHCN) was aimed at connecting, informing and inspiring all women across the country.
This is made known in a statement signed and available to newsmen in Abuja on Thursday by Dr Modupe Elebute-Odunsi, the Co-Founder/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the centre.
WIHCN was inaugurated in Lagos by Dr Elebute-Odunsi, Founder/Chair, Board of Trustees of the organisation, alongside its other founding members on Jan. 31.
Meanwhile, the CEO said that the mission of WIHCN was also to connect, network with peers, experts and industrial leaders, as well as Inform and educate them about developments in the health sector and also share opportunities.
She stated that WIHCN mission was also to inspire and support mentoring sessions of women, as well as building their relationships.
She commended the inauguration of WIHCN network, saying that it will exponentially increase the contribution of women to the development of the Nigerian Health system.
Elebute-Odunsi also commended the three impactful panel sessions on leadership, financing and mentorship led by the network founding members which comprised leaders of industries with inspiring track records.
According to her, the panel showcased what is possible when women are brought togetger, and that it is a preview of what the future events planned for members.
“We are inspired to drive this initiative for all the women in healthcare who aspire to maximise their careers and businesses.
She said that the founding members are drawn from women in various sectors of healthcare in the public and private sectors among which is Dr Simisola Alabi, Dr Salma Ibrahim Anas.
Others are Mrs Abiola Ayilara, Dr Tomi Coker, Dr Orode Doherty, Mrs Uzoma Ezeoke, Mrs Unoma Grant, Dr Kemi Ibru, Dr Kemi Ogunyemi, Dr Abimbola Ojo, Mrs Melanie Okuneye, Mrs Funmi Oridota, Mrs Yemisi Osakwe, Mrs Boroji Osindero, Dr Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu and Dr Amy Traore-Shumbusho.
The CEO said that the avenue would also connect and network with peers, experts and industry leaders, as well as Informed and educate people about developments in the health sector and share opportunities.
She said that it would also Inspired by supporting mentoring sessions and relationships.
Elebute-Odunsi greeted all well meaning Nigerians who witnessed the inauguration. (NAN)
