Transparency Advocacy for Development Initiative (TADI) has condemned the killing of officers andsoldiers of the Nigerian Army in Delta over the weekend.
The Executive Director of TADI, a civil Society organisation, Amb. Yomi David in a statement on Monday in Abuja, described the act as unfortunate.
However, David commended the Joint Task Force of 6th Division of the Nigerian Army, headed by Maj.-Gen. Jamal Abdulsalam, for their gallantry in fulfilling their military mandate under which the terrible attack came on them.
“We kick against the wicked and senseless attack on the military and other security agencies in Nigeria by misguided criminals parading themselves as ethnic militia groups and involving themselves in terrible criminal activities.
“The military intervention that unfortunately led to the ambush and killing of these gallant military officers and soldiers was to bring peace and unity to warring communities of Okuomo and Bomadi of Delta.
“We are not happy with elders and leaders of Okuama and Bomadi communities of the state over their silence since the criminal attack and merciless killing of military officers occured.
“We therefore called on the military and other security agencies to fish-out the perpetrators of such acts,” David said.
TADI assured the military high command in the country of its readiness to push forward an advocacy for a more robust and mutual military/civil relationship across the country. (NAN)
