Amb Jeremiah Umaru, member representing Akwanga/Wamba/Nassarawa Eggon Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives said that he would bring speedy development to Nasarawa North via sponsoring of establishment bills, projects and empowerment of his constituents.

Umaru (APC) who is the current Vice Chairman of House Committee on Public Account stated this on Saturday while speaking with newsmen in Akwanga, Nasarawa State.

He said that empowering his constituents would not only change their lives positively but also promote peace and developmemt in the constituency.

“Within the first one month in office, I have moved a motion on public importance and presented establishment bills at the floor of the House which include Federal University of Education, Akwanga, Nasarawa State Bill, 2023 and National Institute for Technical and Vocational Education, Wamba, Nasarawa State (Establishment) Bill, 2023.

“Others bills are Agricultural and Energy Technical Institute, Nasarawa Eggon, Nasarawa State and Integrated Agro-industrial Park, Akwanga, Nasarawa State Bill 2023 respectively among others 

“All these bills if scaled through and signed into law will have direct bearing on the lives of my people and other Nigerians.

“These bills, if passed into law and assented to, will give our people a sense of belonging, promote development and there will be more Gederal Government presence in the zone,” he added.

The lawmaker also assured of his determination to empower the people of the zone in order to enable them become self reliant and contribute positively to the development of the country.

He recalled that during his pre-election campaign, he told his constituents that if voted into power, he would give them quality representation by empowering them. 

”Now they massively supported and voted me, I want to assure them that I will create avenue to support them in their skills and activities. I will also create an enabling environment for them to strive so as to be self reliance; this will reduce crimes in the constituency and state in general.”

On fuel subsidy removal, Umaru assured that the Federal Government palliatives to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy will get to the poor of his constituency.

According to him, his constituents needs the palliatives as I am also doing my own best to ensure that I provide palliatives for my people.

” I want to assure that I will follow up to ensure that  the right people get the palliatives.”
