Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Bwari Division in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has donated cash gifts to three police officers that were shot and injured by some Kidnappers in the early part of 2024.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the officers include, ASP Mohammed Audu, Retired DSP Suleiman Yahaya and Insp. Audu Ochineh.
Presenting the undisclosed cash gift to them on Saturday in Bwari, the Chairman of Bwari PCRC, DCN John Owens said the gift was the committee ‘s support to the gallant officers.
Owens who was represented by the Vice Chairman, Dr Mohammed Kabir Mohammed said the three officers sustained various Injuries inflicted by kidnappers in the line of their duty in Bwari Area Council of the FCT.
“We are proud of these men. They were gallant in the fight against Kidnappers in Bwari. They put their lives on the line of duty for our safety.
“We thank God for their lives, and we, at the PCRC believe that such gallant show of bravery should be rewarded to encourage them to do more for our Community.
“We hope that our gifts to them will also encourage other officers to put in their best and believe that the Bwari PCRC will always support and come to their aid in any way possible,” Owens said.
Ochineh, on behalf of others appreciated Owens and his team for the gesture and promised to continue to do their best to safeguard lives and property of the residents of Bwari community.
NAN recalls that the three officers were among others that engaged the kidnappers in a special operation at their hideout, and gunfight ensured.
