A grassroots politician and chieftain of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Solomon Jonathan Anyu’Abga, has formally declared his intention to contest for the seat of Nassarawa Eggon West Constituency in the 2027 general elections.
Anyu’Abga made this known during strategic engagements with ward officials of the party, pledging to provide sound and effective representation for the constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, NSHA, if elected.
The aspirant also met with residents of the constituency, particularly youths and women across the seven electoral wards, where he sought their support.
He was accompanied by his team and visited electoral wards including Ikka-Wangibi, Iggah-Burumburu, Mada Station, and Arikpa Lambaga, among others, where he was cheered by supporters who assured him of their total support.
Anyu’Abga stated that his decision to contest was built on widespread calls from different groups and extensive consultations, maintaining that he has joined the SDP to become the lawmaker with the primary responsibility of making laws and initiating projects that will bring development to the constituency.
According to him, his vision for the constituency is to empower communities through effective representation, sustainable development, and inclusive governance.
“As a dedicated servant, I pledge to represent the interests of our constituency with integrity, transparency, and accountability,” he stated further.
The young politician, tagged his political journey as “Youth O’Clock”, said that he has the capacity to deliver and involve people in development affairs.
Addressing SDP members, he said that he would provide purposeful and all-inclusive leadership if voted.
He expressed his desire to contribute to the development of Nassarawa Eggon West constituency and Nasarawa State, urging supporters to avoid divisive tendencies.
Anyu’Abga said that he will bring innovation and lobby for projects.
The SDP aspirant urged the public to disregard rumours that he is being sponsored by a politician in the constituency.
