Nacabs Polytechnic, Akwanga, Nasarawa State, on Friday, has matriculated 610 National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) 1 students for the 2025/2026 academic session.

He warned against sex-for- marks and vowed to dismiss any staff caught in sex- for grades, extortion and other form of misconducts in the school.

Mr Mandy David-Abuluya, the Founder of the institution stated this during the 14th matriculation ceremony of the institution for 2025/ 2026 academic session in Akwanga LGA .

Abuluya said that the institution would not tolerate any act of misconduct, hence the need of his call in that direction.

According to him, I want to advise against sex for marks, grades, money for grades, extortion and I also want to advise female students against prostitution.

” As this school is not a ground for sex for marks, money for grades prostitution among other negative acts, ” he said.

He also advised students against examination mal practice, drug abuse, and other social bills.

Abuluya, who is the President, Eggon Cultural and Development Association ( ECDA) said that 90 per cent of the students in the school were on scholarship.

Abuluya, the Chairman, Community Relations Committee ( PCRC), Nasarawa State said that the school in years has witnessed tremendous growth and development.

The founder urged the students to take their studies with seriousness in order to excel in their academic pursuits.

On his Part, Mr Audu Timothy Maikori, the Rector of the Institution while declaring the Matriculation open, urged the students to be serious in their academics.

The Rector, who was represented by the Deputy Rector of the School, Barr David Agbutun-Abuluya, also urged the students to uphold the values of this polytechnic.

” This occasion marks not only the formal admission of a new cohort of students into our academic community, but also a defining phase in the continued advancement of this institution.

” I warmly congratulate our matriculating students. Your admission into this Polytechnic is a reflection of your effort, your ambition, and your readiness to pursue knowledge and skill.

“You are joining an institution that is committed not just to education, but to transformation,” he said

According to him, I am pleased to inform this gathering that following a comprehensive accreditation exercise conducted by the National Board for Technical Education, our Higher National Diploma programmes in Business Administration and Management

” Accountancy, Computer Science, and Statistics have been granted full accreditation for a period of five years.

” This achievement represents a significant milestone. It affirms the quality of our programmes, the strength of our academic systems, and our alignment with national standards.

” It also assures our students and their parents that the education provided here is recognised, credible, and relevant.
With this progress, our focus is firmly on impact,” he said

Also speaking, Mr Yuna Solly of Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC Unit Commander, Akwanga appreciated the Proprietor for establishing the school.

He urged the students to work hard, adding that hard work pays

Earlier, Registrar of the Institution, Mr Usman Ogah, while Administering the Oath of matriculation on the students, urged the new students to abide by the oath in their interest and for the overall development of the education sector.

Ogah urged the students to abide by all the school’s rules and regulations, adding that any students caught violating the school’s rules would be punished accordingly.

Responding, Miss Comfort Emmanuel, a new student is promised to abide by the school rules and regulations while pledging to take their studies with seriousness.
