A Christian cleric in Nasarawa State, Rev. Ezekiel Gambo, has urged Christians and other Nigerians to live righteous and exemplary lives worthy of emulation, to inherit the kingdom of God.
Gambo, an Assistant Reverend at Evangelical Reformed Church of Christ, Mada Station, made the call while presiding over the funeral service of Bala Kuje at ERCC Mada Station, Nassarawa Eggon LGA
Kuje is the father of Mr Abel Bala, the Minority Leader and member representing Nassarawa Eggon West Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly.
The man of God in his sermon, said that death was inevitable, hence the need for all to live righteous lives in order to inherit the kingdom of God.
” The secret for one to live long life are for us to be very careful, humble, be obedient, be faithful, be just and seek for God’s wisdom.
“There is the need for all of us to obey God’s commandment by living a life worthy of emulation, to inherit the kingdom of God.
” As there is time to be born and time to die as death is inevitable,” he said.
The man of God added that there was hope of eternal life for those who believed in Jesus Christ.
He urged Christians and other Nigerians to shun sinful acts in order to inherit the kingdom of God and for the overall development of the society.
On his part, the Minority Leader of the state assembly, said his father lived a fulfilled life on earth and impacted in them the right values.
“Baba was never a lazy man, he was a hardworking and determined person. He was popularly called Bala Tela as he was one of the best tailors across Mada station.
” Baba was a man who believed in doing things rightly and sincerely. He was committed to God’s work and service to humanity as he contributed a lot to the development of humanity.
” Baba lived a trustworthy, peaceful and straight forward life. He was a discipline and decent man.
” Our father accepted christ and I believe he is with God and I urge us all to emulate his good virtues.
The minority leader appreciated Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi, the Speaker of the state legislature, members and staff of the assembly for identifying with them over the demise of their father.
NAN reports that Kuje was born on 2nd May, 1920 and died on Oct. 18 at the age of 102 as he was blessed with 8 children and 22 grand children. (NAN)
