The Immediate past Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, has appealed to Gov. Abdullahi Sule to arrest masterminders of range of killings in Katakpa community, Toto Local Government Area of the State.
The former Speaker alleged that those behind the killings, their identities are not hidden and they include Hon. Samson Daudu, Barr. Yusuf Wodi and Hon. David Aguma.
The former Speaker made the call when Toto stakeholders visited Gov. Abdullahi Sule today in Government House Lafia.
He said that the victory of Gov. Abdullahi Sule at the Supreme Court was well deserved considering the votes the people of the state and Toto LG in particular freely gave him on March 18, 2023.
” His Excellency, what we are witnessing now in Toto Local Government is beyond expectations, three soldiers were killed, Katakpa village head was killed and many innocent people from various tribes residents in the area were killed.
” Mr Samson Dauda, Barr Yusuf Wodi and David Aguma are people that are causing disruption of peace in Toto LGA
” These three people needs to be arrested and questioned for peace to reign in Toto LGA
“Unless they are arrested, if not there will be no peace in Toto Local Government Area,.” he said.
“The fact remains that those carrying out these heavy killings and attacks are know body but Bassa terrorists groups, we all know that and the identity of the sponsors are well known so what are we saying, the government know the way to end this
“We are not talking politics here, we are talking about peoples lives, the land is vanishing, we can’t talk or play politics if the land and the people are no more, sincerely Government know what to do if it want to end this barbaric acts, we all know them” He added.
The Former Speaker appreciated the Governor for bringing development to Toto Local Government Area among other local government areas of the state.
He assured of their support to the Governor to succeed.
On his part, the Ohimege OPanda, Umaisha HRH Alhaji Usman Abdullahi, has congratulated Gov. Sule over his victory and expressed his people appreciation to him for developing the area.
The first class traditional ruler also appealed to the Governor to complete the ongoing rehabilitation of Toto/Umaisha road.
He also called for the establishment of military base in Katakpa community in order to maintain law and order.
He added that establishing military base in Katakpa community would go a long way in curtailing the activities of Militias in the area.
