The recent appointment of the 23 Justices of Federal High Court favour Honourable Nelson Alapa, the Former House of Representatives, Representing Otukpo/ Ohimini Federal Constituency as his wife was elevated to the position of Justice of Federal High Court.
The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola on Wednesday the 4th Sworn -in 23 Justice of Federal High Court . He charged them to rise above temptations and trials.
CJN , Justice Olukayode Ariwoola has implored judicial officers in the Country to remain impartial and not be swayed by public opinion.
He warned that the bench ” is neither for the indolent, the greedy nor those with dubious character, who can easily fall for a plate of porridge offered by desperate litigants “.
According to the CJN, for Judges to be able to effective, they must not only rise above temptations and trials but also be calculative, honest , objective and dispassionate in all ramifications.
He gave the admonition while administering oath on 23 newly appointed Judges of Federal High Court .
Justice Ariwoola maintained that despite attacks that are regularly heaped on the judiciary, it would however not sideline the constitution to pander towards public sentiments.
A .M news & TV Wednesday reports that , the Ochi’ Idoma together with his Councils member grace the ceremony to honour the family Of Hon. Nelson Alapa and Benue South in particular. This is seen as the high level display of unity in Idoma Land.
The Ochi’ Idoma, HRH Chief John Elaigwu Odogbo While speaking with Newsmen at the supreme court where the swearing in took place, appreciated God for elevating the Daughter of Benue South to a position of Justice of Federal High Court .
“He said Hon. Justice ( Mrs.) Anyalewa Onoja-Alapa is an embodiment of good virtue and a woman of capacity, looking at her antecedent, she will give Nigeria the best.
“He maintained that ldoma Nation is proud of her especially the attitude of her humility and fairness. He prayed that God’s wisdom will rest on her for this new assignment to demonstrate objectively without yielding to the desperate litigants
The paramount ruler also charged the newly sworn – in to bring their wealth of experiences to serve Nigeria with the fear of God and maintain the temple of the law clean, he added !
In the same vein , Chief . John Eyimonye , the Ochi’ Otukpo said Hon. Justice Anyalewa Onoja-Alapa deserved the position because of her seriousness to service, pragmatism, and dedication to hardworking.
” In his statement, nothing can be glorious in life without seriousness. So what we have seen today is the dividends of hardworking and dedication to duty.
He urged her to discharge the duty with the fear of God to bring honour and dignity to the people of Idoma Nation.
While speaking at the Reception in his Apo legislative Residence, Hon.Nelson Alapa expressed Joy and satisfaction to all the participants that grace the occasion. He maintained that the coming of ochi’Idoma and his Councils to honoured the ceremony is the sign of unity and progress in Idoma Land. He said Idoma Nation will continue to witness peace and unity in different dimensions
A.M News gathered that Hon .Nelson Alapa is a great politician in Idoma Land, looking at the level at which men of different Calibre across the parties line grace the occasion.
The ceremony witnessed a high level turnout of illustrious sons and daughters of Benue State, to mention but few, was Amb. Dickson Akor , the Commandant General Peace Corps of Nigeria, Hon. Blessed Onuh , Member representing Otukpo/ Ohimini Federal Constituency, members of Benue State House of Assembly, Hon .Ochacho Jnr , Barrister Harrison Ogbole ( SAN), Mr. Austine Agada
APC Chairman Benue State, Comr. Abba Yarou Former APC Chairman Benue State, Hon. Ina Ochepo All of which spoke in same direction, appreciated God for the elevation of Hon.Justice Mrs Anyalewa, more so, expressed optimisms that she will make Idoma nation proud. They prayed for God’s wisdom, guidance and protections upon her and her entire families.
The celebration featured traditional danced by Idoma cultural group.
