A professional body, ‘Forum of Andoni/opobo-Nkoro Journalists’ has applauded Gov. Siminialaye Fubara for announcing payments of one hundred thousand naira Christmas bonus for state’ civil servants.

This was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by the group’s President Mr Philip Owajioboro and signed by Mr Allwell Ene, Secretary.

According to the group, the governor’s benevolence to civil servants would go a long way to reducing high level economic hardships faced by the average Nigerian workers.

“The governor’s benevolence will alleviate average civil servants to a level of near-satisfaction especially in this season of Christmas,” Owajioboro said in a statement.

He also expressed support for the governor’s willingness towards ending brewing political rifts in the state following an alleged peace agreement with President Bola Tinubu.

He applauded the governor’s move towards embracing peace while also adding that the measure was an indication of sacrifice and love for the state.

The group however, urged the governor to ensure due consultations with stakeholders in the state concerning 27 lawmakers who recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

They also urged the governor to engage with relevant stakeholders with a view of addressing the alleged reinstatement of some Commissioners who resigned their appointments in the middle of an escalated political uncertainty in the state.

The group noted that the consultation when adopted would further strengthen unity and commitment amongst members of the state executive council.
