In the quest to foster excellence and equal access to quality education, the Ezennia Rosemary Azuka (ERA) Foundation will commence its 2023 scholarship programmes for deserving students across the country.
The Managing Director/Secretary of the foundation, Mrs Chidilim Atakulu, disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Monday.

Atakulu said the scholarships was designed to provide financial support and educational opportunities to exceptional students with outstanding academic excellence.

According to her, the ERA foundation scholarship is opened to students from the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria, as the organisation is committed to promoting equal opportunities in education nationwide.

“To be eligible for the ERA foundation scholarship programmes, students must be enrolled in either Junior Secondary Schools (JSS1) or Senior Secondary Schools (SS1) by September 2023.

”They must also exhibit exceptional academic achievements and potential. The foundation welcomes applications from students across Nigeria who meet these criteria and are eager to excel in their educational pursuits.

“To initiate the application process, interested students, parents, or guardians are encouraged to visit https://eraf.org.ng/scholarship and download the scholarship application form.

“Once the form is completed, it should be submitted along with the student’s Primary Six third term result for those students going into JSS1. For JSS3 students transitioning to SS1, it should be submitted along with the JSS3 third term result to scholarship@eraf.org.ng,” she said.

Atakulu said that as part of the application process, applicants were required to create a ‘One-Minute Video Post’ on social media, introduce themselves, their school, and their class.

“They should articulate why they believe they are the ideal candidates for the scholarship and tag the ERA Foundation’s social media pages while using the hashtags #ERAFoundation #Scholarship #2023.

“The ERA Foundation’s social media pages for tagging are as follows: Facebook: ERA Foundation @eraf.org.ng, Twitter: ERA Foundation @ng_eraf, Instagram: ERA Foundation @eraf.org.ng, LinkedIn: ERA Foundation @erafoundation,” she added.

The managing director explained that the selection process for the foundation scholarships was rigorous and comprehensive.

She said that applications would be evaluated based on academic performance and potential, socioeconomic background, financial need, as well as a demonstrated passion for learning and commitment to personal growth.

She said that a dedicated selection committee would carefully review all applications and conduct interviews for shortlisted candidates, adding that final decisions would be based on the committee’s assessment and recommendations.

She further noted that the selected recipients would benefit from a comprehensive package of support to include full coverage of tuition fees from JSS1 and SS1 extending to the university level until graduation.

“Recipients will also receive provisions for textbooks, study materials, and stationery. In cases where accommodation is required, the foundation will provide assistance with accommodation expenses.

“The duration of the scholarship will be specified in the award letter, and the ERA Foundation is committed to offering additional support to ensure the success and well-being of the recipients throughout their educational journey.

”The foundation takes pride in recognising and celebrating the achievements of its scholarship recipients, providing them with a platform to inspire others and make a lasting impact on their communities,” she said. (NAN)
