The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), National Headquarters, has inaugurated new executive members of Nasarawa State PCRC to pilot its affairs for four years.

Alhaji Mogaji Ibraheem, the PCRC National Chairman, inaugurated the new officials in Lafia on Wednesday.

Ibraheem, who underscored the roles of PCRC in crime prevention, urged them to live above board while discharging their duties.

He said that the primary responsibility of PCRC was to provide support and assistance to the Police and other security agencies to help in prevention, prosecution and fight against crime at all levels.

“I want to congratulate you on your election as the executive members of PCRC, Nasarawa State.

“I urge you to live above board while discharging your duties in the interest of peace and development,” he charged the new leaders.

The national chairman also enjoined the executive members to operate an open door policy in order to achieve PCRC mandates.

Responding, Mr David Abuluya, the Chairman, PCRC Nasarawa State, appreciated its members for the confidence reposed in them and promised to live above board while discharging their duties.

Abuluya, who is the President, Eggon Cultural and Development Association (ECDA), also assured of his readiness to lead with the fear of God.

“I want to assure that we will adhere strictly to rules and regulations of the Police Act,” he said.

The PCRC chairman, who is also the Proprietor, Nacabs Polytechnic, Akwanga, also assured of their readiness to assist security agencies with useful information to tackle crime in the state.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that other executive members inaugurated included AlhajiHaruna Ibrahim, Deputy Chairman; Mr Noel Nnaji – Deputy Secretary; and Hajiya Hassana Musa – Treasurer.

Others were Mr Mohammed Adamu – Organising Secretary; Mr Danlami Waren – Ex-Officio; Mr Namo Akpomoshi – PRO, and Mr Emmanuel Ombugadu – Auditor.

NAN also reports that the PCRC national chairman led the state PCRC executive members on a courtesy visit to the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Maiyaki Muhammed Baba.

The police boss assured them of total support to enable the PCRC succeed in the state. (NAN)
