President Muhammadu Buhari has appealed to religious, community, regional and national leaders to demonstrate actions depicting that the entire country is one against this cruel and barbaric act of violence.
Reacting to IPOB’s brutal killing of two soldiers, the President directed military authorities and other security agencies to do their utmost in apprehending the assailants and bring them to justice.
In a statement in Abuja, the President joins citizens in expressing deep sense of shock and condemnation of the barbaric incident, and similar acts of violence against law enforcement agents, describing it as alien to civilised cultures.
Further condemning the irresponsible manner in which their corpses were posted on social media platforms, the President expresses deep condolences to the Nigerian Army and the families of the soldiers, Master Warrant Officer Audu Linus and his partner, Private Gloria Mathew, who were beheaded after being shot by the terrorist group.
It will be recalled that Indigenous People of Biafra has been proscribed by the order of a Federal High Court.
