The North Central People’s Assembly, has rejected call for the sacking of the Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr Ahmed Audi over baseless allegations by harmonized Civil Society Organizations (CHSCON), a Civil Society Organization (CSO).

The assembly also urged President Bola Tinubu not to be distracted by call for the sack of Audi, over baseless allegations by harmonized Civil Society Organizations (CHSCON), a Civil Society Organization (CSO).

This is contained in a statement signed by the Assembly’s President General, Hon Isa Nathaniel and Secretary General, Alhaji Yusuf Ardo and made available to newsmen in Lafia on Monday.

The Statement said, ” The attention of North Central People’s Assembly, has been drawn to a call for a sack of NSCDC boss, Dr Ahmed Audi over allegations of fraud, corruption and nepotism by the conference of harmonized Civil Society Organizations (CHSCON), a Civil Society Organization (CSO)

” In view of the foregoing, we the North Central People’s Assembly, want to specially appreciate His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Sen. George Akume, from North Central Geo-political Zone, as the Secretary to the Government of Federation (SGF), and for well-balanced appointments so far in the country of the security chiefs and others.

” The Assembly want to urge President Tinubu not to be distracted by call for the sack of the NSCDC boss over baseless allegations,

” As they are been sponsored, to tarnish the good image and the landmark achievements of the NSCDC Boss,” he said

The statement said that the Assembly, has been following series of activities/programmes of the NSCDC Boss, in promoting peace, across the country,

“Discovered and believes that the NSCDC leader, is discharging his duties according to rules and regulations as well without fear or favour,” the statement added

The statement further said that arrangement has been concluded by the Assembly, to mobilize a nationwide solidarity rally in Abuja and each geo-political zone of the country in support of the NSCDC Boss.

The Assembly urged the general public to disregard, the call for the sack of the “Peace-loving” NSCDC Boss by President Bola Tinubu.

The News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) learnt that on June 25, the convener of CHSCON, Otunba Adebayo Femi issued a statement to newsmen and maintained that Mr. Audi has become a national shame and embarrassment to public service as his tenure has been marked with series of fraudulent activities.
