Hon Peter Patrick Enna, Nasarawa State House of Assembly aspirant for Nassarawa Eggon West Constituency has withdrawn his intention to contest for the Constituency’s seat over alleged doctoring of the state’s delegates’ list by the National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Hon Enna made his decision known at a news conference in Nassarawa Eggon on Friday.
He said that he would not participat in the primary election of the Constituency’s due to alleged doctoring of the Constituency’s delegates list.
“I will not participate in the primary election because the process was compromised, not just and fair.
“As the delegates list have been doctored.
“ I have written and served the APC Returning Officer that will conduct the election.
“The Electoral Act is clear concerning the nomination of delegates for the primaries.
“The state chapter of the party, under the leadership of Mr John Mamman, has rejected the delegates lists sent to the state by the National Secretariat of our party, APC over doctoring of the list in some local government areas of the state,” he said
The aspirant urged his supporters to remain calm, continue to be law abiding and embrace peace for the overall development of the Constituency’s.
“I want to use this medium to call on my supporters and well wishers to remain calm and patiently wait as event unfolds,” he added.
It would be recalled that the Nasarawa state chapter of the APC had on May 27, rejected the delegates list for the conduct of State and National Assembly primaries.
The state Chairman of the party, Mr John Mamman, told newsmen in Lafia that party in the state discovered that the authentic list of the delegates was doctored in some local government areas of the state.
