As at late December 2023, a slogan came up, people saying “No gree for anybody”.
What are the implications of ‘No Gree for Anybody’? Would people set out fighting or refuse to compromise or step down for the other person.
Meanwhile police had caution citizens about the slogan, that it might be a security risk.
The reporter went to town to seek people’s views on the trending slogan.
Miss Promise Amajiaku, a 22-year- old hair dresser said, “No gree for anybody is just telling you as your starting the year don’t just accept what you are given.
“Fight for your right, do what you have to do, don’t allow anyone to ride on you”
Miss Chidinma, a 23-year-old digital creator, said “It is a man eat man world, everyone wants to survive.

“Or her family to survive so at this point, don’t agree for anybody don’t let anyone take advantage of you to survive and don’t let anyone hurt you to survive,” she said.
Mr Divine Okojie, a 20-year-old undergraduate said, “I think this slang no gree for anybody will put people into trouble, even if we use it to catch cruise.
“It will still put people into trouble because the police had already said if we like we should not gree for them what we will see that is what we will get,” he said.
Mr Uchenna Enyinnaya, a 22-year-old student said, “No gree for anybody is the new 2024 slogan that says don’t agree for any situation you find yourself in, try as much as possible if it is to fight, fight with the person.
“If it is to up your game to get money for a better life don’t agree for poverty just don’t agree,” he said.
Prince John, a 19-year-old an up and coming musician said, ‘No gree for anybody’ is like you being in a situation where someone is trying to oppress you with something you have.
“But you can not agree for that oppression and disagree with the person’s move’” he said.
Mr Ebuka Okonma, a 25-year-old artisan, said, “For me this ‘no gree for anybody’ of a thing depends on the situation you find yourself.
“For instance, if I am in a position of getting help from a person, I will agree to what the person says or do, I cannot disagree,” he said.
Mr Favour Awoyomi, a 30-year-old businessman said, ‘This No gree for anybody’, I just feel that people are misusing it.
“They don’t really see the context in the sense that people take it as a joke. To me, it actually means get it or die trying,” he said.
Mr Jude Okeleke, 68-year-old retired civil servant said, “Wherever you find yourself, no matter the situation, learn not to agree to be subdued.
Mr John Adedipe, a 26-year-old online reporter said, “There’s nothing bad in the slang it only motivates people to seek more in life and also not agree for any nonsense”.
Mr Precious Omokhuale, a 23-year-old content creator said, “No gree for anybody can be funny but to me I feel it has an aggressive intonation in the sense that people get to take it more seriously.
“And ones that comes over your mind you are like ok I am not going to gree for anybody, it may affect your relationship too, ie your love life,” he said.
