National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in Nasarawa State, has commenced the training of 50 unemployed graduates on Enterprises and Financial Counseling Clinic (NDE- efcc) in Nasarawa state.
The agency said the training is aimed at sensitizing participants to the realities to the Nigeria labour market and need for self employment option as career path.
Mr Chris Bamsida, the Nasarawa State Coordinator of the Agency, stated this on Tuesday in Lafia on the conduct of a five-day NDE-efcc training for 50 unemployed graduates in Lafia.
Bamsida said that the scheme would enhance the enterprise potentials of the unemployed graduates.
He also said that the training is to counsel participants to choose the type of business that fits their interest, skill and competence.
“It is to train participants to properly conceptualize their chosen businesses into feasible business ideas and write appropriate feasibility report to obtain fund for business expansion,” he said.
The state Coordinator said that participants would therefore undergo intensive counseling and sensitization to make them adopt innovation and creativities, with a view to making chosen businesses more profitable.
“They will also reduce the difficulties of obtaining funds for business operations,” he added.
Bamsida assured that financial experts would sensitize the beneficiaries on funding opportunities and how to access funds.
“The training will be interactive and practical. Ask questions and make valuable contributions during the training,” he said.
He therefore urged beneficiaries to use the training to improve on their entrepreneur skills, become self employed and employers of labours in the state.
Bamsida added that indiscipline or truancy would not be tolerated during the training.
The state Coordinator thanked Gov. Abdullahi Sule for creating an enabling environment for the directorate to realize its vision of “jobs for All” in the state.
He also appreciated the Director General, NDE, Malam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo, for considering Nasarawa state in programme implementation.
Earlier, the Director, Small Scale Enterprise Department, NDE Headquarters, Mr Sunday David, urged participants to listen attentively during the training for self reliance.
David, represented by a staff of NDE Headquarters, Abuja, Mrs Bassey Attah advised participants to shun absenteeism and truancy during the training.
Mr Osuza Osumanyi, a beneficiary, who spoke on behalf of others, thanked the NDE for organizing the training and called for its sustenance.
