Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) says, it will render assistance to Jigagas University of Science and Technology on devasting effects of flooding in the institution.
The Executive Secretary of TETFund, Mr Sunday Echono made the pledge when the governor of Jigawa, Umar Namadi v
isited him in Abuja.
According to Echono, Jigawa is one of the major frontier states in term of emerging technology.
“In spite of the challenges, Jigawa is resilience in the area of innovation and technology, and I think that was why the Federal Government established the Federal University of Technology in Babura in the state.
“We want to assure you, your Excellency that we will continue to support the effort your in the development of education in Badura and Jigawa State in general.
“You had it rough after the flood that ravage the institution where some structures were affected. Also, on the issue of security infrastructure, we will send a team to look at it. We will grant your request.
“Your coming here says a lot about what TETFund is doing across the country.
“If you go aroiund our campuses you will begin toi see that now we have begin to modernise and also contributing a lot in the contents and programmes of our intervention,” Echono said.
Earlier, Namadi said the essence of his visit was to thank Echono for TETfund’s intervention in the terriary institutions in Jigawa.
He lauded the organisation for all it has been doing in the development of education in the country.
“Like Oliver Twist, we need more of your intervention in Jigawa. We will continue to cooperate with TETFund.” (NAN)
