Brigham Young University-Pathway Worldwide, an online-based University, has held its convocation ceremony for 134 graduands from its 2022/2023 academic session.
The ceremony which took place in Abuja, had in attendance dignitaries from the government, leaders from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, among others.
Dr Victor Ukorebi, International Area Manager of the Institution, urged the graduands to use their certificate to live in peace with everyone one.
According to him, the programme which is also spiritually based, is committed to making graduates who are peacemakers and employable.
He called on the graduands to go out and make a difference in their society, by promoting peaceful coexistence, work with integrity and transparency.
“I can tell you with all my heart that the students that graduated today are prepared to run the economy of this country.
“They have learnt all the skills that they need, they have been taught about integrity, hardwork and so many things.
“They are prepared to go into the job market, that is our focus, we want our graduates to jump from classrooms to employments,” he said.
Also speaking, Dr Kayode Odedina, a representative from the National Universities Commission (NUC) who congratulated the graduands, urged them to go out and make a mark in their respective fields.
“Education is not all about having a degree in paper, it requires you to use that degree to touch lives and make a name for yourselves.
“Ensure that you make your institution proud and your family as well,” he said.
For his part, Mr Raymond Egbo, Area Authority Seventy, called on the students to take up more positive task in life and get educated with several skills.
“Do not limit yourself, change your attitude, think about the opportunities and take away bad attitudes.
“If you don’t take out bad attitudes, the education you have received will be meaningless.
“Always remember to stay humble and never stop learning, be good ambassadors of this institution and never limit yourselves,” he said.
One of the graduates, Maureen Ugorji, who expressed her joy on successful completion of her studies, appreciated the school management for their unwavering support to their studies.
“I feel so good and highly inspired and all what has been said to us today has been enlightening and encouraging”.(NAN)
