The Founder, Nacabs Polytechnic, Akwanga, Nasarawa State, Mr David Abuluya, has read riot acts to members of staff of the institution against extorting students.
Abuluya gave the warning in a meeting with teaching and non-teaching staff of the institution in Akwanga.
He warned that any staff found extorting the students would be sanctioned according to the laws of the country.
“I want to plead with you not to extort the students in the interest of peace and overall development of the education sector.
“Anyone found in extorting the students will be dealt with accordingly,” he threatened.
Abuluya, who is the President, Eggon Cultural and Development Association (ECDA), however appreciated the workers for being hard working and committed to their duties, calling for its sustenance.
“I want to appreciate you for your hard work and dedication to your duties. I want to assure you that I will continue to do my best in improving on your welfare.
“But we will not compromise standard in this institution,” he said.
Abuluya, who is also the state Chairman, Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), assured the members of staff of better days ahead.
Responding, Mr Usman Ogah, the Acting Registrar of the institution, appreciated the proprietor for the meeting.
Ogah said the meeting would go a long way in addressing some of the challenges facing the school.
The registrar assured the founder of their continous commitment to duties. (NAN)
