The Adamawa Police Command has apprehended five suspected kidnappers and recovered ransom of N4. 079 million in Mubi local Government Area, Adamawa.
SP Suleiman Nguroje, the command spoke man disclose this in a statement issued on Friday in Yola.
He stated that the suspects criminally conspired and whisked away their victim where they held him for two days and two nights until when a ransom of Five Million as demanded was paid to them before releasing their victim.
“Further to the Command’s renewed commitment to enhance proactive strategies in crime fighting, the Command had again on the Sept. 9 disconnected a crime network connecting syndicate of Five in Mubi North and South Local Government Areas respectively.
“The operation, which was carried out by the Command’s operatives attached to the State Intelligence Bureau (SIB), yielded positive result as the sum of N4.079 million cash out of the sum of Five Million Naira, paid as ransom was recovered.
“The outcome of this success followed a report received about the kidnapping of an 8-years-old Mustapha Aliyu Fadil in Mubi and took him to Barassa Hotel at Maraba Mubi”, he stated.
According to him, after receiving the report, the Command promptly designed an Intelligence -led driven strategy and luckily apprehended the suspects aged 19 to 21.
He stated that Commissioner of Police, Sikiru Akande commended officers for professional conduct displayed and directed them to sustain the tempo as a strategy to checkmating crimes and criminals in the state .
“Akande calls on the populace to always inform the police on the whereabouts of criminals and their hideouts, and especially those with questionable character.
“He equally assured the Government and good people of Adamawa State of a sustained effort to dislodging all criminal hideouts and black spots in Adamawa State” he stated.
