The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified the training of its Special Forces, charging them to remain resolute in defeating terrorists and other criminal elements threatening national security.

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, gave the charge during the final Physical Fitness Test for trainees of Special Forces Course 13/2026 at the Regiment Training Centre Annex (RTCA), Bauchi.

This is contained in a statement by the Director, Public Relations and Information of NAF, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, in Abuja.

Aneke said the evolving security environment required highly trained and mission-ready personnel capable of responding decisively to emerging threats.

“The Nigerian Air Force will continue to train, equip and deploy personnel capable of taking the fight to terrorists, kidnappers and other criminal elements wherever they may be found,” he said.

He stressed that there would be no safe haven for criminals, reaffirming the NAF’s commitment to ongoing counter-terrorism and internal security operations across the country.

Earlier, the Commandant of RTCA Bauchi, Squadron Leader Edeama Lawrence Akpan, said the exercise was designed to ensure that only physically fit and mentally resilient trainees proceed in the course.

According to him, Special Forces personnel are required to operate in austere and hostile environments where endurance, discipline and commitment are critical to mission success.

The exercise forms part of efforts by the NAF to build a highly capable force ready to tackle contemporary security challenges and support ongoing military operations nationwide.
