“… as he gets endorsement from stakeholders, students to contest for third term come 2027…”

Hon. Luka Iliya Zhekaba (PDP-Obi II) at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has disbursed N6million scholarship to 223 students studying in various higher institutions in the country.

Zhekaba, the Minority Leader of the House made the disbursement on Thursday in Duduguru, Obi Local Government Area of the State.

Hon. Zhekaba, the Chairman, House Committee on Public Complaints, Petitions and Security said that the gesture was part of his commitment to boost education and ameliorate academic burdens in his constituency.

According to him, today, I have earmarked a handsome amount of N20,000 each to be disbursed to 223 beneficiaries.

” I have facilitated admissions for my constituents across different tertiary institutions both within and outside the state, devoid of any consideration.

” I have been able to established foundation for girl-child education that offers free JAMB registration to female students and financial assistance for project writing to final year students of the constituency.

” As Education remains the surest weapon that can change and shape our society positively for effective growth and development,” he said.

Hon. Zhekaba also disclosed that he has done well in almost all areas of the economy while promising to do more.

The lawmaker pledged continued quality and inclusive representation at the state legislature.

” As your representative , I shall continue to initiate and support policies in the assembly that are beneficial to you.

” I shall also continue to support your education through scholarship scheme and other financial aids.

” That is why I need your support again in 2027 general elections, so that the good gesture can be sustained,” he added.

He urged the students to ensure judicious use of the money.

He urged them and other students to shun examination malpractice, drugs abuse and other social vices in order to excel in their academic pursuits.

He urged the people of the constituency to vote Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in 2027 general elections.

” Do not get discouraged by this present situation, there is solution on sight and that solution is to vote PDP in 2027 general elections to dislodge the sufferings caused by APC led administration,” he said.

Also speaking, Hon. John Ovey, member representing Keffi East Constituency, Hon Mrs Hannatu John, State PDP Woman Leader, Hon. Abu Agya, PDP Chieftain and Mr Awotu Cletus Ogu, President, National Union of Migili Students, among others have appreciated Hon. Zhekaba for disbursing the scholarship to the students of his constituency.

They urged the people of the Constituency to continue to support Hon Zhekaba to succeed beyond 2027.

Earlier, Chief Ashikpo Leke Joseph, the Chairman, Scholarship Award Committee said that 223 students would be given the scholarship.

He said that Hon Zhekaba was a shining example of purposeful leadership.

” A man with passion for service has touched every corner of our constituency,” he said

He said that Hon Zhekaba has drilled boreholes, offered employments and executed other projects in his constituency,

Joseph also urged the students to study hard and stay focused in order to excel in their academic pursuits.

Responding, Franca Bulus and Sunday Baba, beneficiaries , who spoke on behalf of others thanked the lawmaker for the gesture and prayed God to bless him abundantly.

They assured him of their loyalty and support to support at all times.
