The Concern All Progressives Congress ( APC)  Youth Forum in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has urged the leadership of People Democratic Party ( PDP) to caution its members against  campaign against election tribunal in the territory.

This was contained in a statement issued by the leader of the Forum, Comrade Usman Chidawa on Wednesday in Abuja.

According to him, PDP members in the FCT are running a smear campaign against the electoral tribunal handling the case of the FCT polls.

You may recall that FCT election petition tribunal sitting at the Magistrate Court Wuse Zone 2, Abuja, had recently nullified the election of Mr Zakka Maikalangu, of the PDP as AMAC Chairman.

Delivering judgement, the three-member panel led by Chief Magistrate Muinat Olashade Oyekan, declared Murtala Usman Karshi of the APC as the authentic winner of the Feb. 12, AMAC poll.

However, Maikalangu has filed an appeal against the tribunal judgement.

The Forum raised serious objection to an attempt by the PDP to smear the judiciary, owing to the recent judgement of the area council elections tribunal’s judgement.

“The tribunal judgement affirmed Mr Murtala Usman- Karshi, the APC candidate as the duly elected chairman of the area council.

“We urge PDP to stop castigating the judiciary if tribunal verdicts did not go their way.

“We hereby urge the PDP to call its members to order, they should avoid spreading fabricated, baseless and unfounded stories as regard the issue at stake.

“This is in order not to heat up the polity in the interest of peace. It is not proper for the PDP to raise infantile accusation and designing public sympathy against the tribunal’s verdict.

“Let it be known that the Justices of the election tribunal have never lacked the courage to act rightly even in the face of the PDP’s usual intimidation and blackmail,” he alleged.

Chidawa also advised Coalition of Chairmanship Candidates to stop preempting the court and threatening the judges, and judiciary particularly in AMAC.

He called on the security agencies to put a watch on the alleged  threats by  PDP’s actors and hired thugs to avoid disunity and disrupt peaceful co-existence of residents in the FCT.

” It’s our prayers that the security agencies act immediately because a “stitch on time saves nine”
