Dr Hassan Ikrama, the Chief Medical Director (CMD), Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital, Lafia in Nasarawa State, says the hospital has generated N187 million from January to June.
Ikrama announced this on Thursday in Lafia during the 2022 budget performance assessment by Nasarawa State House of Assembly Committee on Health.
He said that the figure was above average of the hospital’s approved revenue target of N262 million for the fiscal year.
He lauded the committee and state government for the support and called for the sustenance of the support.
Ikrama also said that revenue in the last six months overshot the hospital’s target by N56 million, and assured the house of the hospital management of its readiness to improve on the health status of the people of the state.
Earlier, Mr Labaran Shafa, the chairman of the committee, lauded the management of the hospital for performing well in terms of revenue generation.
He also assured them of effective collaboration to improve on the health status of the people of the state.
Shafa said that effective synergy would not only improve on the health status of the people of the state, but would also promote development.
The lawmaker also lauded the management and staff of the hospital for providing good services to the people of the state.
“We have invited you based on the mandate given to us by our speaker to assess the 2022 budget performance of your hospital.
“The constitution has empowered us to oversight on your activities with the aim of ensuring that the right things are done for the benefit of our people.
“The exercise is not to witch-hunt anybody but is to promote good governance in the state,” he said.
Shafa urged the hospital to sustain the tempo and lauded Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State for giving adequate attention to the health sector.
Also, Dr Edego Egba, the CMD of the Hospital Management Board, led the management before the Committee and appreciated them for supporting its activities.
Egba said, “we have really performed above average in terms of revenue generation”, and commended Sule for developing the health sector in the state.
He, however, solicited the support of the committee in the area of staffing and equipment, among others.(NAN)
