Barr. David Ebosetale Aigbefoh, the immediate past Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Gwagwalada Branch Abuja, has been conferred with the chieftaincy title of Idon Gari
(Eye of the Town) alongside 65 prominent persons at Tungan Maje chiefdom in Abuja.
Aigbefoh speaking after the coronation said he will use his new title to help in the protection of lives and properties in Tungan-Maje community.
He commended the Tsumaje (Dakachi) of Tungan-Maje, His Royal Highness Salihu Isiaku Na’annabi and the entire ruling council for the initiative which
resulted from contributions and positive impacts of the conferees of the chieftaincy title.
Aigbefoh said Nigeria is large, which requires the input of all while urging leaders and traditional institutions to live up to expectation in the provision quality leadership and good governance to the citizenry.
He also stressed that the leaders should be nterested in making life meaningful to her citizens.
According to him, “it is a thing of pridefor me to see good and beautiful people and culture that we don’t have in other places.
“My three years here in Tungan-Maje community has been very exciting, full of fun as I have made a lot of friends as well as appreciate the culture, and I look forward to assist in developing the community and
coping the security challenges in the area.”
“I congratulate all the chieftaincy conferees and the entire Tungan-Maje community for this uncommon feat today.
“I also remind you that this great honour comes with a corresponding responsibility of further promoting the traditional virtues and ideals which the community hold in very high esteem,” he said.
The Tsumaje (Dakachi) of Tungan-Maje, His Royal Highness (HRH) Salihu Isiaku Na’annabi during the coronation tasked the new title holders and other traditional institutions to live up to expectations in the provision of quality leadership and good governance to the community.
Na’Annabi, said the palace decided to coffered such titles on the personalities based on their consistent and relentless commitment to excellence that the chiefdom found worthy of note.
He stressed the importance of peace and assured the new palace cabinet members of the emirate council’s readiness to provide a level playing ground for all, irrespective of ethnic or religious background. (NAN)
