The Coalition of Youth Groups from Plateau, Niger, Kebbi, Kogi, and Kwara States held an enlightenment program in Niger State at the Justice Idris Legbo Kutigi Conference Hall. The event drew the participation of key stakeholders and youth leaders from across the region.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Coalition, Comrade Abdul, emphasized the need to rise above tribal sentiments in matters of national appointments. He addressed concerns raised by some individuals regarding the recent appointment of Mrs. Tomi Somefun as the new Managing Director of the Nigeria Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC), urging attendees to prioritize merit, competence, and national unity.
“The letter ‘N’ in N-HYPPADEC stands for Nigeria, and that alone should dismiss the misleading narratives being pushed by a few uninformed individuals,” he stated.
Describing Mrs. Somefun as an intelligent and hardworking professional with a proven track record, the Chairman called on all stakeholders and youth groups to rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and support his appointees in the interest of national development.
In a symbolic display of humility and commitment, the Chairman went on his knees before the stakeholders, passionately appealing for their support for the President’s vision and his inclusive governance agenda.
He concluded by urging all youth groups to ignore distractions from “busy bodies and bystanders” and instead remain focused on unity, constructive engagement, and the overall development of the nation. (NAN)
