The Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria, PASAN, Nasarawa State Chapter has celebrated its first edition of Award and Dinner Night.

The initiative which was the first of its kind since the inception of the House was coming during the regime of the current PASAN Chairman, Comrade Suleiman Safiyanu Oshafu.

At the event lawmakers, clerks, staff and a journalist were honoured for distinguished themselves in service.

Speaking at the event, Governor Abdullahi Sule expressed appreciation for their contributions to the State governance and acknowledged their efforts in sustainance of democracy, enhanced development in the State and pledgef more support in order to motivate them achieve more in the years ahead.

The Governor who made this known today at the occasion of End of the Year 2025 Award and Dinner Night organized by PASAN held at the Assembly complex along Shendam road, Lafia thanked the union for discharging their duties diligently.

The Governor who was represented by his Special Adviser on Legislative Liason, Hon. Muhammad Ibrahim Alkali urged the parliamentarian staffs to continue to support the Assembly members to make laws, resolutions and carry out effective oversight and other legislative functions towards achieving more development in the State.

On his part, the Speaker of the State Assembly Rt. Hon. Dr. Danladi Jatau representated by the Majority Leader, Hon. Suleiman Yakubu Azara commended the PASAN for their maximum support and cooperation to members of the Assembly and promised to continue to synergies with them for the overall development of the State.

The Deputy Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Mohammad Adamu Oyanki, who served as the chairman of the occasion, appreciated the contributions of parliamentarian staff, their unity, understanding and hardwork, described them as the engine room of the Assembly, and brain behind the success of the House and achievements recorded so far.

He encouraged them to sustain the unity, and understanding among themselves and the lawmakers for more productivity.

Personalities who grace the occasion included the State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Dr. Ibrahim Tanko, State NUJ Chairman, Comrade Salihu Alkali, Commissioner Ministry of Agriculture and former Majority Leader of the House Hon. Umar Tanko Tunga who also received an award of excellence.

Other lawmakers in attendance include Hon. Ibrahim Peter Akwe and Hon. Musa Abubakar Ibrahim.

Among the awardees were Hon. Mary Ewogulu, first female lawmaker in the State,
former Majority Leader Hon. Abdulhameed Kwara, the Chief Judge of the State, Justice Aisha Bashir Usman, who was a formal Clerk of the House, Secretary to the Government of Nasarawa State, Dr. Labaran Shuaibu Magaji, SAN, His Royal Highness, Ode Oyanpya, Barr. Joel Sabo Anenge, who was the pioneer Clerk of the House, Wambai Keffi, Alh. Ibrahim Abdul Usman, a former member of the House, Haj. Ramatiu Ajuji Abubakar, former Chairman of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly Service Commission, Hon. Solomon Azaki, former Secretary of the State Assembly Service Commission, present Clerk of the House Ibraheem Musa, Alh. Alkali Haruna, the Deputy Clerk Finance and Accounts, Haj. Hadiza Musa Bako, Deputy Clerk Administration and Supplies, Barr. Obiri Uji Deputy Clerk Legal Services, Paul Okugya, Deputy Clerk of the House, and Rossiah Kumbugu Deputy Clerk Information and Publications as well as some staff of the Assembly who have distinguished themselves through dedication and hardwork in their various capercities.

The PASAN Chairman, Comrade Suleiman Safiyanu Oshafu said the awardees were carefully selected based on merit and congratulated them for well deserved honors.

It was reported that the occasion witnessed quiz competition where ten people participated and won prices.

It was also reported that the occasion was a moment for wining, dining and dancing in appreciation of God favour for seeing the end of the Year successful with records of achievements just as the State cultural troop entertained guests and audience.
