“••••• as Gov. Sule, Speaker Jatau, ECDA President, Abuluya harp on peace promotion, unity, support for Govt.

Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nassarawa State, has said that his administration was committed to the promotion of unity and peace in the State.

Sule stated this during the inauguration and swearing in ceremony of National Executives of Eggon Cultural and Development Association (ECDA) Worldwide held at the palace of Aren Eggon, Nassarawa Eggon LGA of the State.

The Governor said that his administration would continue to provide all inclusive leadership in the state for unity, peace and development to thrive.

” I want to congratulate Mandy David Abuluya , the President of ECDA and other executive members on their well deserved victory at the polls.

” I want to congratulate Abuluya for the good work he is doing,” he said.

Gov. Sule commended Aren Eggon, Justice Ahmed Ubangari Alaku (Rtd) and other traditional rulers for promoting unity and peace in Eggon nation.

” If there is peace in Eggon nation, there is peace in the state,” he added.

The Governor pledged to donate a vehicle and build perimeter fence at Eggon Community Secondary School, Nassarawa Eggon and he also donated 150 bags of rice to ECDA to distribute to less privileged ones to celebrate Christmas.

Also Speaking, Dr. Danladi Jatau, Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has called for unity among Eggon and their neighbours.

” Eggon people were known for our unity, so let’s continue to live in peace irrespective of our affiliations.

” I urge the new ECDA leadership to interact and work with ethnic groups for the unity, peace, progress and development of the state,” he said.

Dr. Jatau appreciated the ECDA President for what he is doing over the years and called on him to do more.

” It is our expectations that you will do more and carry all that contested and lost along for the development of Eggon Nation,” he added.

The Speaker further commended Aren Eggon and other Eggon traditional rulers for promoting unity and peace among Eggon Nation.

Besides, Dr Jatau also appreciated Gov. Sule for the good things he is doing for Eggon Nation and others.

On his Part, Alhaji Isiyaku Abdullahi, the Chairman of the occasion and Galadiman Eggon commended the electoral committee for conducting free, fair and transparent election.

He urged the ECDA officials to work closely with traditional rulers and other stakeholders for the unity, peace and development of Eggon Nation.

The Chairman of the occasion appreciated Gov. Sule for his consistent support to Eggon Nation and called for its sustenance.

Justice Habila Abundaga, Judge of the Customary Court of Appeal, Lafia while administering Oath of Office on the newly elected officials urged them to work in line with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria while discharging their duties.

He also urged them to ensure transparency and accountability in performing their duties.

Prof. Evelyn Lami Ashelo Allu-Kangtum of the University of Jos while delivering a Keynote Address with the Theme: Building on the Foundation : Unity, Legacy and Strategic Development for a Greater Eggon Nation” called for unity among the people of Eggon Nation.

She said ECDA must remain the umbrella for all Eggon people.

” Let us build an Eggon Nation where every citizen, at home or abroad, can proudly say, I belong, I contributed, and I thrive,” she said.

Responding, Chief Mandy David Abuluya, the President of ECDA appreciated God and delegates for his re-election.

” I have revived Eggon Community Secondary School, Nassarawa Eggon. Enrollment has grown from 13 students to over 650 students.

” WAEC and NECO examinations have been restored. Ten classrooms have been renovated and academic life has returned with dignity among others,” he said.

Abuluya said that he has done well in his first tenure and promised to do more in his second term.

The ECDA President said that he was committed to the completion of the school by mobilising resources to construct perimeter fence around the school, complete the science laboratories and finalised the Examination Hall among others.

” Economic empowerment and human capital development will receive renewed attention and We are determined to modernize ECDA operation,” he said.

Abuluya reaffirmed Eggon Nation support to Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s administration for the development of the state.

” We remain committed partners in the pursuit of peace, unity, and development across the State,” Abuluya said

He, however, solicit for the support of Gov. Abdullahi Sule , stakeholders and sons and daughters of Eggon and friends of Eggon to assist in constructing the perimeter fence and complete other renovation works at the school.

” I appeal to stakeholders to assist the association with a vehicle to ease transportation challenges, enable us to reach all Eggon Communities, preach peace effectively and discharge our responsibilities without hindrance.

” Support the completion of the Digital Secretariat among others,” he said.

It would be reported that the event had in attendance, Hon Solomon Yakubu Akwashiki, Hon Jacob Ajegana Kudu, Hon. Mohammed Ibrahim Agah Muluku, Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Ibrahim Tanko, Commissioner for Information, Hon. Mohammed Ibrahim Alkali, Hon. Abdullahi Angibi, Hon. Barr. Iliya Ibn Aliyu, Chairman , Nassarawa Eggon LGA, traditional rulers among other politicians and well wishers.

It would be also reported that other officials Inaugurated included Mohammed Arigbadu- Vice President, Umar Abdullahi Galle- General Secretary, Barnabas John Anvah-Assistant General Secretary, Gyabo Danladi Sulaiman- PRO, Dogara A Edzi-Treasurer.

Others are Emmanuel Edro Akwanga- Financial Secretary, Abaine Samuel Abains-Auditor, Danladi Umbugadu Audu- Provost Marshall and Haruna John Adigidizi- Social and Cultural Officer respectively.
