Youth Initiative for Fitness and Impact (YIFI), a wellness and fitness group has tasked Nigerians on regular physical exercise to keep fit and enhance productivity.
Comrade Kenneth Chima, National President, YIFI, made the call on Wednesday in Abuja, during the group’s fitness walk “Bwari Fitness Walk” to celebrate the Nigeria’s 65 independence anniversary.
According to him, we want to use this fitness walk/exercise to chart a new course as a people to inspire hope, passion and courage on residents of the FCT.
“We are also hopeful that this celebration will serves as a powerful reminder that we can become the better version of ourselves by genuinely changing our values, character, attitudes and habits.
“These qualities offer the right and healthy mindset necessary for national advancement and prosperity,
“Nigerians needs regular pysical exercises, considering the fact that a lot of people are suffering from high blood pressure and other illnesses.
“Exercise has the potential to heal some illnesses and the lack of it can complicate some health challenges. So Nigerians should exercise regularly.”
He said that a healthy and fit body ensured increase in productivity, adding that such could positively contribute to the over all development of the country.

Similarly, the National Vice President of YIFI, Daniel Adebesin, said that the walk aimed to promote fitness and peace within FCT.
“This is also a call to sports lovers to join us to promote fitness and peace. Let’s walk to keep fit,” he said.

Also, the Treasurer of YIFI Ebuka Onyeka, explained that the fitness walk is to commemorate the 65th Independence Anniversary of Nigeria.
According to him, YIFI is a fitness group, stressing that health is wealth and for any human to be healthy, he or she has to be fit
