African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Nasarawa North Senatorial District, says that the party, if voted would rescue Nigerian democracy from political strangulation and suffocation in the country.

Hon Tijjani Marafa, the Spokesperson of ADC, Nasarawa North Senatorial District stated this while briefing newsmen in Akwanga on Saturday

He said that ADC was rooted and built upon accountability, transparency , integrity , grassroot governance ,Economic and socio- cultural reforms , tackling of insecurity and corruption.

” Following the unveiling of ADC as the Coalition’s platform on 2nd July, 2025 in Abuja.

” We in the Nasarawa North Senatorial Zone of Nasarawa State wish to pledge our total allegiance to this political coalitions.

“Those of us in this coalition comprises of CPC bloc which have already collapsed its structures in to ADC. Others were part of labour party LP, part of people’s democratic party PDP and part of All Progressive congress APC.

” Our objectives for coming into this coalitions is to build a strong and truly democratic party that will advance genuine representation.

” Collective leadership, equal participation and inclusive politics. We wish to produce a new kind of leadership which is people centred, principled and genuinely democratic” he said.

According to him, In short, we want to join hands to rescue Nigerian Democracy from political strangulation and suffocation which we have found ourselves in the last two years.

Tijjani said that the new coalitions was reflected wide spread public frustrations over the worsening economic climate, unprecedented hardships.

” And falled Government. Two years of this regime the Naira has collapsed, inflation has skyrocked, and poverty has worsened

” Nigerians are now pushed to the wall due to the unpopular policies of the current Government. This current socio-political landscape therefore demands a quicked credible alternative and ADC stands ready to fill the gap,” he said

The ADC Spokesperson said that the party has already commenced grassroots mobilization of supporters across the zone to ensure its victory in 2027 and beyond.

” We have already commenced a grassroots mobilization of supporters, party members and loyalists across the senatorial Zone and the state at large to actively participate in this movement.

” We equally welcome all new members who are resigning from other political platforms to join ADC, your decision is courageous and commendable and we acknowledge your readiness to be part of this historic Journey,” he added.

The party also condoled with the family, people of Katsina State and Nigeria over the death of President Muhammadu Buhari.

He also prayed God to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljanatul Firdausi.

It would be reported that the briefing had in attendance former Nasarawa State CPC Chairman, Mr Hamidu Haruna among other stakeholders.
