The 2025 world blood donor day is an annual event celebrated all over the world.This year 2025 was also celebrated nationwide with the theme:,

^Give Blood. GIVE HOPE ;Together we save lives.^

The world blood donor day is dedicated to expressing gratitude to voluntary blood donor’s for their gestures in saving lives and to highlight  the ongoing çritical need for  safe and regular blood donation.

The World Blood Donor Day was celebrated in keffi on Monday 16th June 2025.

The procession started from the federal Medical Centre keffi led by Dr.Ukoma Chikadibia chairman and founder of leukaemia careplus initiative

According to Dr.chikadibia who is also a dermatologist at the federal Medical Centre keffi called on the people of keffi and nasarawa state to come and donate blood as to have a renewed blood which will make someone to be freshly.

He said the procession was designed to raise the needed awareness about the life saving value of voluntary blood donation whereby the public will know the importance of knowing their blood group towards promoting regular and safe blood donation which is a civic responsibility.

 Dr.ukoma chikadibia opined that the event underscores the commitment in improving public health through innovative diagnostic and partnerships  and one knowing his or her blood group as a medical necessity he stated.

 In a related development leukaemia careplus initiative advocates for cancer patients through their sensitization programmes.

The chairman and founder Dr.chikadibia appealed to the federal government to build diagnostic centres for the screening of cancer of the blood.

He said the government could do so by bringing state of the art equipment that could make diagnosis and early detection easier.

 Yearly countries around the world celebrate world blood donor day(WBDD).the event serves to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products and to thank voluntary unpaid blood donor for life saving gifts of blood.
