Nasarawa State University Keffi a Beacon of Innovation, Hope and Excellence – Vice Chancellor

Vice Chancellor Nasarawa State University Keffi, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman said within the past one year she has driven the University into a citadel of innovation, hope and excellence due to her unwavering commitment followed by unrelenting pursuit of shared vision of the entire University community, the university partners and the University stakeholders.

Making this assertion at the Assembly hall of the University recently at the 4th Stakeholder’s meeting stated that exactly  on the 22nd April, 2024, she was entrusted with the mantle of leadership to lead the University through the endorsement of the Governing Council and the appointment by his Excellency the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State Engr. A.A. Sule who is the University Visitor, the trust given to her she pointed out came with the responsibility to transform, to build, to sustain and to inspire.    

In her epistle titled: Our vision charting a path to Excellence stated that upon assuming office, she laid a bold and transformative vision to reposition Nasarawa State University Keffi (NSUK) as a globally competitive, research driven, innovative led and community engaged institution ,through a clear cut goals meant to strengthen the academic foundation of the University.

This she pointed out is meant to ensure that the curriculum remains relevant

 to National and global demands,  broadening frontiers of research development and innovation through modernizing infrastructure that could support the learning, teaching research and living abilities.

Prof. Sa’adatu Hassan Liman promised to improve the overall student experience and enhance staff welfare through deepening strategic partnerships with institution, industries and organization both within and outside Nigeria.

She added that she will foster transparent governance inclusive leadership and institutional excellence across all levels.

This vision was never intended to be theoretical, rather it was a practical road map anchored on measurable outcomes, which I am proud to report that, one year on, we have made a tangible and meaningful progress in turning this vision into reality”.

Highpoint of the event is the unveiling of strategic Action plan 2024—2029 by

His Excellency Engr.A.A Sule the Governor of Nasarawa state, who lauded the management of the university for the strategic plan promised that his administration will ensure that the needed support is given to it for it to work.

.

“I came in and found a rising profile of the university, so I must do my best for this university to rise to the top,“I’m happy that we have a team that is driving the plan, which is the best that we can achieve for this institution.

” However, I am also aware that the institution has the capacity, the prospects and the potentials to be among the leading universities in the entire country.“Based on these positive prospects , my administration has resolved to give maximum support to enable it to be one of the best in the country,”

Governor Sule  informed that his administration is also looking into the challenges facing the university such as insecurity, fencing and accommodations.“As a matter of fact, in the next few days, we are going to sign a Public Private Partnership with a company that constructed the hostels at University of Lagos.“The company is coming to construct 1,152 bed hostels

.”In his remark, Prof. Attahiru Jega, the Pro Chancellor and Chairman of Council of the university, appreciated the state government for the commitment shown.Jega also applauded the Vice Chancellor for the feats she was able to achieve in her first year in office, and assured her that the governing council would continue to give her and her management team maximum support.
