Distinguished senator Abdullahi Adamu and immediate past National chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC)was among the dignitaries that graced the opening ceremony of the  2nd root crops international trade fair held at pyanko keffi in Nasarawa state Nigeria.

In his remarks he urge root crops farmers in Nasarawa state and other states of the federation to participate and  identify with the roots crops farmers market to ensure that there is adequate food security in the country.

He said following the theme of this year root crops trade fair which is titled  Technological development and economic empowerment stated that the trade fair came at the right time were farmers shall be introduced on the latest trends of using technology to advance their farming skills and methods.

Senator Abdullahi Adamu maintained that such will add value to their crops to bring about optimum yield.

 In his remarks the Chairman  of roots crops farmers international market Alhaji Bello Abubakar (Majidadin keffi)said farmers of the roots crops came from all the states of Nigeria irrespective of the current economic crisis rocking the nation.

 He said at the trade fair there are new variety of sweet potato spices extracted from the root crops, ginger, turmeric, onions etc with a wide variety of scientific processes he stated.

The chairman opined that at the end of the trade fair farmers will be well informed on how to focus their farming for wider and optimum yield in other to see how their income could be enhanced.

 He called on traditional rulers to mobilize farmers at the grassroots towards encouraging them for effective yield.
