Chief Oluchukwu Ezeali, Commissioner for Business Development in Ebonyi, says Gov. David Umahi has the capacity to improve on the legacies already in place for the country by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Ezeali, also known as P. Nobel, stated this in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday, in Abuja.
He said that he felt happy when Gov. Umahi visited President Buhari and declared his intention to contest for the post of the president come 2023.
”The truth is that, we have been asking the governor to take this bold step, because he means well for his people. When he gets the party’s ticket, he will definitely win the presidential election next year.
“Umahi will replicate his progressive efforts in Ebonyi at the national level, as he intends to bring a business-like spirit into governance.
“Let me assure him that his people are with him and that he will clinch the position because of his track records. We really need someone like Gov. Umahi to take Nigeria to greater glory.
“It is a common knowledge that President Buhari has brought unprecedented development to the country, through the APC government.
“He brought the country out of recession and has many track records that will continue to make Nigeria the envy of other countries. Umahi has the capacity to continue and improve on those legacies,’’ Ezeali said.
The commissioner reiterated his joy over Umahi’s interest to replace the president, come the 2023 general polls, adding that he was also impressed with the level of unity so far in the APC led government.
According to him, with many people like Gov. Umahi in the ruling party, Nigerians can be assured of better days ahead, noting that it can only get better.
“President Buhari has done his best for Nigerians in this Next Level administration; it is now left for Gov. Umahi by the grace of God, to continue the good works from May 2023.
“I want to add that the Gov. Umahi I know, will not disappoint Nigerians, as we are familiar with his passion to revamp all sectors of the economy, whenever given the opportunity,’’ he said.
Ezeali admonished the people of Ebonyi to look into the remarkable achievements by the current administration in the state, be thankful to the governor and support his ambition of becoming the next President of the country. (NAN)
