159 Nigerians renounced citizenship in 2022

At least no fewer than 159 Nigerians renounced their citizenship in 2022.

The Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Interior, Dr Shuaib Belgore said this on Thursday at the 64th session of the State House Ministerial Briefing organised by the Presidential Communications Team at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

According to Belgore, 150 Nigerians renounced their citizenship between 2006 and 2021, but 159 Nigerians renounced their citizenship in 2022 alone.
